Once again, the crew will be dinning at Moe's on Archer road, and then heading over to the Gainesville Rock Gym to climb, rappel, and bolder around.

Crew Meeting

There will be a brief meeting this evening prior to the Troop meeting to plan a Crew event over the winter holiday.

Crew Shirts

We will be placing an order with the Jacksonville Scout Shop for Venture Crew shirts within the next 2 weeks. Any Crew 432 or prospective crew member is welcome to order a shirt (not required, but they look really cool!).

To place an order, visit the Scout Shop on-line and determine what size shirt you would like. Let Mr. Horter know what size shirt you would like either at the troop meeting on Monday, September 27th, or via e-mail. Shirts should be ready to pick up at the troop meeting on Monday, October 4th.

Crew member are responsible for the cost of the shirt. Crew numbers, and patches will be covered by crew member registration fees.

Venturing is the young adult program of the Boy Scouts of America for men and women 14 (who have completed 8th grade) through 20 years of age. Local community organizations such as professional organizations, churches, and civic groups initiate specific Venturing crews. They do this by matching the interests of the young adults withe the people and program resources with the people and program.

For example, a local SCUBA shop could start a Venturing crew and invite young adults interested in high-adventure activities to join. A church might have adults that could provide leadership and program support to a Venturing crew that does service-oriented project like building Habitat for Humanity houses or working at day-care centers and retirement homes. A hobby club associated with a hobby store could provide adult leadership program resources for young people interested in a specific or a variety of hobbies.

The program of the Boy Scouts of America is to provide young adults, thought these community organizations, an effective Venturing program designed to build character, promote citizenship, and develop personal and mental fitness. Each crew has a responsibility of achieving this purpose by designing it own program.
